Relic Hunting
A while before Dman started relic hunting with me, I received (rare) permission to hunt a CSA Winter Cavalry Camp commanded by a well known Confederate General. The people who owned the site told me that a lot of people had hunted it over the years before they stopped letting people hunt. They doubted I would find anything. Some family members were less than enchanted about me hunting there so I knew my days were numbered. There were some fairly rare bullets there including the .55 cal. and .58 cal. German Suhl Carbine bullets in the box. in addition to the relics in the box, i found 35-40 more CSA .69s that i put in a jar. i almost cried when the family members convinced the owner to stop me from hunting and Dman wants to cry when he thinks about what he missed. Thanks for looking and happy hunting from Middle Tennessee,

Lead poisoning is not to bad I see  . That is a good group of bullets! Good luck getting back in there.

I would be crying also If I couldn't get back out there. Great finds see a good selection of Conf. bullets there.

Fantastic run of finds. Way beyond anything here

Awesome finds in a "hunted out" spot. You may find that people often tell you it has been hunted to death in an attempt to discourage you from hunting it. Anyway, glad you got in there for even a short time. Maybe things will workout and you can return one day.

It would be wonderful to hunt a spot like that, fantastic finds, and congrats on getting them, I see no point in letting artifacts rot in the ground, the only reason to not dig is if there is a chance you might find remains of a solider!

Very nice display. What a shame you can't hunt there any more. :'(

Too bad they stopped you from hunting. With that many bullets there has to be a killer confederate button or two in there somewhere. Maybe even a plate. Oh well, there is always a moonless night.

Don't sound like lead poisoning to me...perhaps SUGAR of lead! (Check those CW era prescriptions for that one LOL).

Nice haul.

Awesome finds. I wished I had been hunting with one back then but I was only about 5 years old at that time.

I am not sure what item near the top of the box that you are referring to. The round disc made of iron with serrsted edges and a hole in the middle is a spur rowel. The half moon shaped object is a heel tap from a large cavalry boot. Thanks for looking!!!

Never Hunted Out V!!!...Great display of find's there  Where did you stick your turkey call at :o
