Saturday was a hot one even in the shade. Me and wv1978 knocked on doors and got some great permissions. Unfortunately they all seemed to be duds.. Found a sterling handle near a spot I had previously dug a heavy sterling fork. Also dug a cool dog tax tag from 1957. Findings were slow with many stinking Lincolns. The find of the day came late. I’m afraid to clean it anymore but it looks like 186_. 65E06C96-1E4E-4BD1-85DD-4B09697ED2D0.jpeg

Hey Cladder, nice save on the 2 center! There was a short run on those so they are a great find. I STINK at door-knocking, and I've got at my disposal a LOT of awesome, old places around here...drag wv1978 down here, I'll point, you knock...lol. After enduring that nasty, long winter, I knew it wouldn't be long until we would be sweating our u-know-whats off. Congrats-great day..Ddf.

Yeah door knocking is kinda rough. It’s kinda hard to sell people on something where they aren’t getting anything. I got a sales pitch that I use. The key is the area it seems. I’ve hit towns that every person shot me down. I am getting maybe 75% or better in the town I’ve been working lately. My town is rough and I mostly get dirty looks.
I actually didn’t know what that coin was, thought it was a electrical knockout at first. Wv1978 knew what it was thankfully. I likely wouldn’t have known till I posted it here.

Andres Cleaning Pencils work great on Indians and 2 cent pieces. Here is the before and after picks of one I found. You have to go slow, and maybe put a little mineral oil on the crud to loosen it.

Turned a loser into a looker, huh?

Congrats on the nice find sir.

Congrats on the nice find sir.
That did a great job on that coin. Wv1978 was telling me about those I think. I’m gonna have to get some. I’ve got an Indian penny that is crusty that I’m gonna practice on.

WV1978 is just trying to steal my thunder, you have to watch that dude closely.

The pencils won't remove corrosion or fix a broken coin... but, they do an amazing job on removing the impacted dirt from those IHCs & 2 centers. They will clean coins, that other methods ruin. You have to go slow and be really easy, but you can see the results.

Best of luck to you sir!

lol, nice one Tom. I actually just got a set last week and i like them a lot. They do a good job at cleaning up old copper but you do have to take your time. This was my first attempt, scratched it a little

Congrats on that 2 Cent. I bet if you went back and hit it in another direction, you may pulling a tribe of indians. I still pull targets after gridding a place in mutliple directions.

Thats A good idea. I think I will wait till it rains on it. It’s kinda dry there.
