My brother just called from Timberville. He invited me to hunt a house built in the 1860's. He has already hunted it some. Lots of iron stuff. He got rid of some it it for me. He also dug a diamond ring. It looks like gold but isn't marked. It originally held 7 diamonds, but only 4 in the setting now.

I leave at dawn!!!!

Sorry for the long wait. It's because we didn't do much more than help the environment. The house was old, hasn't been painted for years. It is going to be razed for a subdivision being built. Too bad, the house was in a very sturdy state. We dug alot of junk. The last resident's weren't very ambitious at all. I hear they didn't work, no vehicles, and even bathed in the creek right outside. I did manage 34 cents in badly corroded coins. I really don't think anyone of any means ever lived here. People did like to shoot. We dug lots of brass.

I did dig some flowers and brought them home, so it wasn't a total lose.

So the way of the Treasure Hunter. Get it next time.

I hope you or your brother sifted the dirt in the hole where he found the ring to see if you could find the missing diamonds....but then, if they were not real it would not matter I suppose.
:)

Too bad it did not produce more. Getting access to an old house like that and having unlimited permission to hunt without worrying about tearing up the grounds is kinda nice.

It was a good place to hunt. We could dig to our heart's content.

Answer to your question: He couldn't tell me exactly where he found it, but I had brought my sifter. He is very green at treasure hunting, and didn't even think about marking it or sifting it.

I say keep looking there are many years of use. Just go slow and be systematic.
Good luck
