Found a bottle partially exposed in a river. Emerald green, three mold seam an applied top. I cleaned it up. I love the color. The neck is not symmetric. The green gets darker on the lower base of bottle. The numbers and letter indicate mold number, etc (not year made). is my research correct?

Now…..A) is this a wine or is it a liquor bottle (with label long gone)

…….and B) is this mid to late 19th century?

Thanks for looking…..

That's a real nice recovery. Congrats
I would put it in the 1880-1885 era.
Finished pontal
Some real informative reading on this link.

Probably right about the dates, although I would lean toward the later. Not pontiled however. Nice find just laying out there like that!

Thanks Sandchip for the info! It’s always great to receive feedback.

Nice find right there and the plus is that you didnt have to dig 20,000 pounds of dirt to get it! Congrats. jgas

Thanks all! I’ll consider this one solved…

I think of these as scotch whiskey bottles made in the UK. It's a late 3-mold, but not too late -- I'm comfortable with 1880+/-. Never had a pontil scar; that is, it was never empontilled. I've not ever heard of a "finished pontal" before this thread.

Thanks Harry! Great info. UK and scotch whiskey, and found on the Columbia River shoreline. My wife may allow me to keep in displaying it!
