1858 East India Company quarter Anna

I was quite surprised to find this coin today. I got a quarter signal on the detector and expected a quarter not a quarter Anna. The strangest part is I found it on a Southern California beach! If I were relic hunting in some old area I might expect this but, not here. Anyway it helped to make my day, no jewelry, thanks for looking. Rick

WOW, great find there. Could be from a ship wreck. Would not hurt to hunt that place extra hard. Good luck!!!

Cool find. I once bought an "Anna" coin at a coin shop for 10 cents and sold it on ebay for $60.

I'd be going back to the beach hunting for more of those! 8)

I was thinking the same thing, I don't see how it could have survived on the beach for that many years.
