1855 calendar token

Tonight after dinner I went back to an old cellar hole that I found the 1893 Indian head at this week and found this token it has wording about being issued semiannually according to congress and something about the clerk of the court for the southern district of NY. Any info anyone has would be greatly appreciated. It has six months on each side it was holed at some point and looks to have some gold toning or plating left to it or maybe it's still under the patina

I've only found 1 calendar token/medallion (1782). It's still makes me wince, as it was early in my detecting days & I clipped it with my spade, taking off a small flake. Anyway, I think they were a kind of teaching aid & I think they often showed religious holidays etc.. A good find & in very nice condition, as well.
 

that is a strange one, have never seen one like that before
