Hi All, Decided to change things up yesterday and try a new spot. First site was part in the old French War. I was excited to see the old French schooners still resting where they were scuttled over 250 years ago to prevent capture by the British! Wile it was a nice walk, It was quite over grown with vines, thorns and poison ivy! Not much area to hunt but I did manage a very nice 41 merc. If you look closely you can see the decks in the water.
Second spot I hit was a park near the river. Well I walked right through the park and went down to the creek bank. Turned on the etrac and BAM! Like literally the fourth sweep I hit a perfect silver quarter signal!!! Much to my surprise it was a large copper! A 1854 Bank of Upper Canada One Half Penny Token!!! These were much like our trade tokens, before Canada produced there own currency. The obverse is an image of George on his horse, fighting a dragon! Too Cool!
After a bit of clad I went to my final stop. Back to my old faithful honey hole. It amazes me how this spot just keeps giving! 1919 & 41 Mercs, mid 1800's buckle and strap end with leather still in it, old ford key, lead filled rosette, lead seal, 03 & 05 liberty nickels and a buff, old Asian coin (ID would be great!), 12 Wheaties, and 2 1920 silver Canada 5 cent pieces fashioned into cufflinks!
A beautiful day, Sunny & 70, Fresh air and some fresh finds!!!
Hope you enjoy the pics and HH to all!
