1854 Seated Liberty Dime

I found this 1854 Seated Liberty dime at an old farmhouse. This is my oldest silver to date and my 2nd Seated dime this year. I also found an 1875 Seated dime at a school that was built in 1925. It is so tarnished and pitted that it will not scan too well. The 1854 dime was found at a depth of 6 inches.

I did some looking at my excel files for 2004 & 2005. I found 16 seated coins during that time frame and 14 were from under walks and only 2 from shaved down yards. Least the side walk sites seemed to work for me. The two yard finds were the same yard. My 2003 records are misplaced somewhere.

You will find them, just a matter of time. Get in the right spots and it will blow your mind what has been hiding for so long.

Actually I've been hunting since the spring of 1968. Can't believe I haven't found even one seated! And what's even worse I don't recall ever finding a standing quarter either :P

I wonder if The Pete offers "How to detect" courses? I'm starting to work sidewalks but so far all I'm finding by the walks are pieces of junk and Memorials.
