Weather has been pretty lousy this April. The few times Ive gotten out I havent found much other than a Braided Hair LC in a farm field. I did a quick hunt at an old one room schoolhouse where I found my first ever seated dime years ago. Nothing left there but one deep wheat penny excitement and a late 19th century Italian 10 centesimi:icon_scratch: Also hit the water today for a Cool suspender clip with a knight on it and a toasted indian. Highlight of the day was the Seated Quarter :headbang:found right next to where I found my last cob at the beginning of the month

Congrats on the nice seated Quarter! :occasion14:

1853 is the year the mint reduced the silver content. That's why the arrows and rays were applied. Also, after they reduced the silver, they minted 15 million 1853 quarters. Before that, they never made even a million a year. That's why 1853 dimes and quarters are found so often on here, but not by me, unfortunately. Gary

Yeah, the vast majority of seated quarters found will be either 1853,54,76 and 77 with a few other years from those decades sprinkled in. All five of mine are.
