1850's Gold Dollar

Found in a soccer field. My guess is that the soil was brought in from somewhere else?

welcome to t-net, nice find happy hunting

So I was in a soccer field with my mxt. I'm very professional, cut plugs and never ruin the area. I get a hit on an object that says 3-4 inches. Always a Lie...lol.
I shake the plug, run it over the coil, nothin. Go back over the hole its still hittin 3 inches. Scoop, scoop, beep, beep, finally find a round clump of dirt. Shake some dirt and see a coin that looks foriegn.
clean it off and yeah!!

Thanks man. My goal is to find a King George copper. This guy on youtube found one in NH. Oh I'll post the link.

Thats an awesome coin find.:occasion14:

Well you did post it in the what it's worth section so I will give you a ballpark figure. First off is there a mint mark on the reverse of the coin below the wreath? It makes a huge difference in the price. If no mint mark then its a common year but if its a Charlotte or a Denver mint coin the price shoots up. looking at the fuzzy pictures its hard to tell the condition. I will tell you it is worth no less than $70 and no more than $200 if it is a Philadelphia mint. If it has a C or D especially a C mint mark I would spend the money to have it sent off and graded. keep in mind because it was dug up then cleaned it will probably not be assigned a grade but instead put into a genuine slab. Hope that answers you question.
