I found this brass item and didn't think much of it until I cleaned it up and saw the eagle and company name. Dietz made lamps and lanterns for years but was known as Dietz Brother & Co. only between 1840 and 1855. I am trying to find a picture or drawing of what the lamp looked like. I think it may have been a whale oil lamp. Any help greatly appreciated. Piece is approx. 2 inches by 3 inches and flattened, apperars to have once been round.
