Found these today. 1847 Is a bit crusty and was from an 1802 house.

The buckle was from an 1831 house. It looks to me like a shoe buckle but obviously not constructed like a typical 1700s buckle. It is rather thin and appears to be brass as opposed to copper. How long did they make shoe buckles? Perhaps from a child's shoe?

Would love to get some input as to it's age.

Thanks!

Nice large cent !!! Not sure about the buckle, looks more modern side but I'm no expert.

Congrats and HH

Having only two large cents in my pouch in 9 years any one I see dug rates HIGH on my list for nice keeper coin.:headbang: The buckle doesn't look way old and is certainly unique. Nice day out when you bring home an LC.:icon_thumleft:

Guess I'm lucky to live in an area with so much history. Not as old as some places in the northeast, but still, sometimes I take it for granted.

A large cent always makes me happy though!
