Relic Hunting
Got out yesterday for a shallow water hunt and found my first W.W. Wilbur token and some other relics. Wilbur was an auctioneer of slaves in Charleston SC and is listed as providing other merchant services like real estate, notary public, ect.
The draped bust shows typical water wear but is always a welcomed find. I found the ginger beer a couple weeks ago on another water hunt and it still has the copper wire to keep the cork secure. Thanks for looking!

Good looking Wilbur token.
Appears to be Miller SC-9, 10, 12 or 13 in Rulau's 4th Edition (page 399). Fine $35 up to $100 in UNC. The caption in Rulau reads:
"In 1846, and until the outbreak of the Civil War, Charleston was one of the principal slave marts in America. Its auction houses thrived on the sale of Negroes and other property. These slave-related pieces have become very popular recently, thus causing a dramatic price increase."
