Yeah Im still stoked! I don't know what its but I seem to find more of the early pioneer coins and objects from the 1830's and 40's. Im in Norther Illinois and as we all know Chicago was a major point for them to head west! I basically find that point in time very interesting, so thats what I zero in on, the spots I want to hunt!

Great coin. I have yet to get a capped....... or half dime...... or two center ........ or three center..........I better get some rest and go hunting tomorrow.:tongue3:

Very cool, I'm still looking for a seated, anyway congrats.

GREAT find for Illinois! Took me 20 years to find my first Capped. Then dug a second one less than 2 years later.

Cheers,

Buck

Great old coin, worn or not. Field find I take it.
Congrats to you, :hello2:

Nice find.
It actually looks better than my first Capped bust..mine was holed too.

This should make you feel better.
Haha.. now that's worn.

I would love to find one of those, congrats!

Nice old silver! It's amazing the date is so readable!

Well, now I haven't been to a BARBER shop ever, did find an Indian Head, found plenty halves & SLQ's in my 33 years swinging. And I've not touched a "seat", and a capped bust is beyond my comprehension!

I was never lucky playing poker either! But consider myself very lucky = 22 straight silver dimes one time, oh that very sweet whisper of deep treasure :)

I congratulate you! Yeah, envy you too! But this find made your day a remarkable one! Keep swinging :)

Yeah! I call that deep whisper a "lonely sound...when you hear it, you know! I found one seated half years ago, kinda let the capped bust slide off my list, they're so elusive, lo! Probably have the Big One if one ever shower up in a plug!

I still can't get over the fact that an 1837 Capped Bust half dollar was my very first silver find.
It was my first non clad find with a detector period.
Reading everyone's responces makes me feel even luckier.

Congratulations on your find again.
