extremely fine range, ballpark about $500. use daylight for a close shot, does it have mint luster ( shiny) & was it cleaned? PCGSPhotogradeonline will get you closer on the grade. small / large date have slightly different value

VF on the front, XF detail on the back... with the dings though it would bring in the Fine cond. range.... nice coin!

All I did was rinse it with water no other cleaning or rubbing. This coin was found in a field! I'm pretty sure its a small date.

Very nice clean looking coin in great shape. Lucky find, congrats.

XF40 with environmental damage. Value will range between $200 and $450 depending on who and how many people want it. My guess is that it will be toward the lower end of that scale.

Thanks for all the replies. I guess it would pay to get this graded and slabbed. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I wouldn't do it for this coin, but, if you decide to.....PCGS would be my first choice.

It is a fantastic find, but I would not bother to get it slabbed. I don't believe it would receive a clean grade, it would be a "details" coin which I don't think would help the value.

Although a nice coin, it does have some damage. It is also not a terribly desirable date. I would give it strong VF details with damage. Value is somewhere in the $75 range. I would not bother getting it slabbed, IMO.
