Found this last saturday at 6:00 pm. After going to three places I end up at a place I had hunted several times. A small patch of woods with an old foundation and a well. I got a 13 inch ultimate detech coil for christmas and teemed it up with my ace 250. I decided to run in all metal mode and dig every promising signal. Got a deep signal and hit roots at 6 inches. Was tired and almost disregarded it as a large iron object. I put the shoval under the roots and tryed to pry them up. The half popped up from between them in full view. At first glance I was thinking a large token of some type. I picked it up and noticed it was fairly heavy. I could see the outline of the capped bust and started getting excited. I gently wiped near where the date should be 1833, no way! Still haven't wiped it off yet. Gonna wait awhile. Best of luck to everyone. th_100_06661_zps7fc2042b.jpgth_100_06641_zps89651ac9.jpgth_100_06651_zps8752666d.jpg

Awesome Find!!

wow nice find

Thanks, its scratched on the front. There was dirt in the scratches when I took the coin out of the ground " I swear" Figured if I did it they would look fresh. I was probing with my digger under the roots thou. I looked at the scratches up close with my loop and they did'nt look shiny to me. If I did it I feel bad but I try to be careful every chance I get. Thanks for the responses and good luck hunting to all.

Wow that coin is a beauty and in awesome shape!!!

And to think, if you had left, you would have missed it. Well done.
