I had some play time today so I went to an area that I suspected could be a early house site. It was a virgin site! The nuttin buttons were limited and small. The soil was like clay so the large cents were destroyed not to mention someone drilled a hole in the 1724 Farthing then cut in half. I found the other half about 10 feet away. They also drilled a hole in the thimble. I happy that they didn't get there hands on the 1833 high 3 dime. I also found a dollar bill. Does that count??

Didn't realize at first it was a farthing that was drilled...thought it was a washer...

Congratulations on a good hunt with some very nice finds. And yes in my opinion if you found the dollar bill while detecting it counts. Stay safe, good luck and keep swingin.

Awesome!!! Congrats!!!

What kind of site is

What kind of site is it?
Benny.to answer your question . "what kind of site is it?" it's the kind of site that is missing buttons. The ratio is too low for buttons. It seems like they made buttons from a thimble and a farthing. I'm sure that if I sifted the site I would find shell buttons. The site is just a small flat area in the middle of the forest. No cellar hole. No outstanding trees. I believe it was over by around 1840.
