with the weather suppose to be around the 40's today my buddy and i headed out before dawn to hit a new cellar that looked promising we found the week before , there was still about 3 inches of snow on the ground but we gave it a try and both came away with some keepers . it was great just to get out and swing the coil before cabin fever really start to set in .this site was loaded with alot of goodsized relics , part of a solid silver spoon bowl, an old colonial nice star patterned button and i have no clue what the " TACIT" thing with the face is . hey thanks for looking all hope you got a chance to take advantage of the milder temps .

The finds are really nice! :icon_thumright:

I live in western Ma., how's the diggin' and the frost? By the way......You should post the GW in the Best Finds thread. We have a posting there. Nice finds..........Hogge

awesome day, was it hard digging? Over in the Northwest Hills the ground seems frozen up pretty solid. Takes alot of effort to get a target out. Nice group of finds you have!

Nice bunch of finds!
That large cent's in great shape.

Hard to say for sure, but leaning towards it being a Newcomb 6 (Low O in OF)?

The word TACIT came from the Roman historian Publius Cornelius Tacitus from the year 56 to 117 AD, by the way that is a Roman Soldier on the Badge you found check the link below theres not much else on Tacit
