Its a Virgin Mary piece, but I can't make out all the writing. I did make out the small date below her which is 1830. It looks old enough to be from then but who knows for sure. Found in my neighbors yard. Also got a 1901 Indian head and a 1920 wheat. The other round object is lead I think and has the number 4 on the back. The plastic piece was in one of the holes I dug. Also found two tokens in a different spot the other night and wanted to share them. The last two pics are the front and back of the token, but I only showed the better condition one. HH

thanks I didn't get my hopes up too much I knew a lot of items had a same date when they are manufactured

I think most of those religious pieces have that date on them. Not the actual date of the item but its still a cool thing to pull out of the ground.

If you hadn't seen it yet, images and a little history behind the token written by the grandson of the originator. ( Is it Okay to Give Used Gifts? )
thanks so much for that article. I did not see that. I did know they opened that store in 1937 or 38, but that was it. I found those tokens 10in down next to a creek 50 miles north of Pittsburgh.

ok I am a catholic --the "mircle" of seeing the virgin mary by a certain nun occurred in 1830 -- thus the date * --its commonly called a holy mary "mircle medal"

I found a silver one recently. I believe that Mary became a saint in 1830. That's why the date.

Nice digs and thanks for sharing those pictures
