Had a couple of nice hunts over that past couple of weeks, the last of which was this past Friday scouting a new area with my friend Harvey. Went to a local spot of mine that has produced some quality relics this summer by all of the Mid-Atlantic Relic & Coin Hunter gang. Harvey pulled a nice Virginia Half Penny the same day I found the 1830 Naval One Piece Button. Enjoy the pictures of our hunts and stop on by Youtube and take a look at my channel Wes-N-VA! Thanks and HH to all.

Nice post! Looks like you had a fun, productive hunt!

Nice finds! I love the button, and it looks like to have a T2, I use one too. They're hot machines.

Actually, your 1-piece brass US Navy button is from earlier than the 1830s. That specific design, showing an eagle standing on the flukes of a vertical anchor surrounded by 14 stars, was manufactured in Britain for the US Navy during the late-1810s into the early-1820s. Your button is shown as button NA-81C in the Albert button-book.

Nice finds Wes, :icon_thumleft: I like to find the thimbles unfortunately I can't seem to find one in any better shape than the one you found. Hope that your uncle is doing OK!

Oh, was that you that honked at me at the school this past Sunday? Looked like your truck.

You rock!!! Thank you very much for that information. I saw one on here from a while back while doing an online search and it said 1830 so I went with it, now I know!! Your close to me as I live down in the Norfolk area. I hunt the Richmond area....A LOT. Thanks again friend! I am also a life member of the SONS! Tom Smith Camp

Wasn't me, I was with the ole lady enjoying time with her and the three kidos. Thanks for the kind words about uncle Joe. He doing much better now and gaining strength each day. Maybe I'll get him out on the next hunt with us. Both thimbles that I found out there were trashed and flat which stinks, but we are finding older and older relics out that way each time we go. Nice VA Half Penny was pulled out by my friend Harvey the sameday I found the button. See you soon!
