Sometimes I get off of the CW detecting and hit a few places in Richmond County,Virginia that offers me some luck mainly in coins and the soil is so great the coins conditions always come out good.
Today I spent most of the time hunting an old 19th century horse race track that was est. in 1820 up to 1890s that I was able to track down from research this spot is always been good with coins and after 4 hours of digging (mostly junk) I came across a 1829 Liberty in excellent condition for being dug and a 1884 Victoria Dei Reginal -Canada One Cent which is a first for me and my first Canadian coin!
This Sunday I plan on doing some hut digging with another member on here so hopefully we can post some good CW finds, I guess i've gotten to the point in CW hunting where if i'm hunting a union camp I just want the plates & buckles but of course if it's confederate I want it all but it sure is fun digging union relics..
