I finally cleaned up some things from early this week. A good bud of mine, Bigsprings, called me crazy early and said he's 5 minutes out. The mad scramble begins, hoping not to forget anything, including fresh batteries. We roll out about a 1/2 mile and I yelled, “turn in this driveway”! He looks at me and said, “do you know if this is it? 1/2 mile from your house, this has to be picked hard”. Told him I found this place a couple years ago and it slipped my mind. Parking in a friends driveway and a walk across the street, it doesn’t get much better. Let the pounding begin!!! Couple minutes in I pull a cool chain, then a musket ball, smoked LC, nice brass buckle. How could I let this site slip my mind? A crotel bell, some kind of a pencil thing made of slate? Four buttons, part of a harmonica, 1889 Indian, some weird piece of brass. I almost forgot, and an eagle button!!! The eagle button is between the matching buckles. 3 hour hunt paid quite well. Little help with the date on the eagle button, and the pencil slate thing. Thanks ED

Very nice variety of finds! It's a good thing that you checked that site out after all!

What caught my eye was the way the ground was drying out and could see the out line in the field

440- 3 inches of rain in 3 days. Can only imagine what has washed out !!!

Real nice finds.those buckles are awesome.congrats
