1820's Gold Gilt Button and a .58 Musket Ball.
Went to a field last night after they had a classic car show there on Sunday. Found about a buck in clad coins, but no jewelry at all. Bummer. But I did pull out a couple of relics while I was there.
My first find was a really nice .58 musket ball. Looks like it was dropped, since there's no damage to it at all. This is the 10th musket ball I have found at this spot this year.
The second find was an 1820's flat button. It still has some gold gilt on the back and even a little bit on the front. No design on the front, but there is a backmark. I can read R. Robinson and Attleboro (MA) on it. From that info, I determined that it was made from 1826 to 1828 only. This is the 12th flat button I have found at this spot this year.
