My first hole, right next to the foundation. This 1817 LC is one of the better conditioned ones I've found. Probably because it was 10" or so deep.( Just a guess). About a 1/2 hr. later my brother found a 1902 Barber Dime. A little while later the wheatie. This place has been hunted by us no less than 20+ times and has yielded well over 25 coins. Just goes to show ya 'bout hunted out spots! We missed ya Dickie! The Hogge

Great finds "hogge". I keep finding things in places that I've been over
before. I guess my coil just does not get over all of them, or I'm
asleep. Congratulations. (blklab)

WTG Hogge! Nice finds as usual for you lately. Did that LC come out of the ground like that or did you clean it? Just curious cause I found my first LC today and cleaned it.

Came fro the ground in real nice shape. Put in heated hydrogen peroxide as per usual. Rinsed off, and a coating of vaseline to bring out detail. That's my proceedure and I'm sticking to it with all my ground found coppers. I only vary from this when the coin is worth alot of $$$$.

You had another good day, silver, largie and early wheatie, not too shabby. :) Looks like out of the 17 or so varieties it is a Newcomb 10, Rarity 1, Common.

Thanks Don. Am going to C4 on Saturday. I'll tell you how I made out when I return on Sunday. Todd

Well I hope you enjoy your first C4 auction/meetings. Some great guys in that group. I wish Boston was a bit further south than it is! :-\
