That's pretty cool Jim. Same thing happened to me, but I thought the ring was some corroded washer, or something. Always nice to move something from the junk pile to the keeper pile.

Hey Jim,
I've had that happen too. Interesting looking ring. Too bad no stone. My son and I were out today. A little cold by Lake Erie here but at least the sun was shining. :) We were a few miles inland but with a good north wind it's still cold. We found a few keepers. Maybe post on Sunday.

Congrats on your find, to bad the stone is gone. I kept everything I find and sort it out when I get home. Good stuff stays, rest goes in the trash. Besides finding treasures, we are also cleaning up mother earth, a little at a time. WTG DiamondJim.
