1815 House nets great button. NEED HELP IDENTIFYING BUTTON!

Hi all. Been out and found some more things. Today we went to an 1815 house, however it was not the original house, but that area has been settled since 1815. I found a couple of questionable finds but one great button. The plated silver item is a I don't know, to wide for a ring. Maybe a candle stick thing Found a tag of some sort with a very faint 16 on the bottom center of it. The button is awesome. I am not sure what kind of birds they are suppose to be The trianlge shaped thing is another I dont know. I also got another plain jane button with no back.

Anyone with any information about the button would be great.

I agree with the napkin ring ID, in the absence of anything for size reference in the photo.


I think your button is inspired by Chinese or Japanese art, and would date to the Victorian Era. (If this is the case, it couldn't date any earlier.) Two cranes are perhaps depicted? Either way, that's my educated guess. Those are wonderful finds you posted!

My wife thinks they could be peacocks because of the crest on the back of its head. Anyone else have an opinion on that?

That is a cool button. The birds appear to be Pileated wood peckers, better yet they could be the Ivory Bill wood pecker which I believe became extinct in the 19th century.
