Hey guys I wanted to post up some of my finds I haven't posted yet. I went on a hunt down south with a great group if guys and got into some sweet 1812 buttons, which are not easily found around here. I have only cleaned them with a toothpick so far. The gunk on some is very tough. I dug a folliated script "RA"-regiment of artillerist coat and cuff size. A script" A" 1st reg coat Multiple artillery regt cuff buttons Also got a nice big friction primer from a sea coast gun & an 1854 O half dime as well as some eagles, eagle I, cast cs 3 ringers and 1/4 of a large solid shot. The hunk is near 10lbs
Got a hat letter R that's broken :/

Nice finds you got there! Congrats!

Love those one piece War of 1812 buttons James! I've dug a handful of them, but I just don't see enough of them up here!

A bit jealous lol! Great assortment of finds :notworthy:. HH

Thanks Steve
I agree they are scarce in most areas

Great finds James. Nice hunk of artillery you have! In a book I'm reading about a CS solider during the war that's all he does just about everyday is shoot artillery. Going on picket or just moving from camp to camp they were shooting shells in thickets just to see if any "game" is stirred up. So I don't know why we don't find more artillery shells an frags? Should be everywhere!

Nice digs there James! You don't see many Classic Head large cents posted here, especially ones with a clear date left. Most are toasted. I also like the photo of the two large next to each other that shows the difference in diameter. Before I got back into metal detecting and found TNET, I wrongly assumed that all large cents were the same general size.
