What type of coin is this.

It is part of my great grandfathers collection. IMG_0375.webp

Nice United States classic head large or half cent! What does it say on the reverse, one cent or half cent? Is it nearly half dollar size, or around nickel size? If it is larger than a quarter it is a one cent coin, if it is smaller than a quarter and almost the size of a nickel than it is a half cent. Nice coin, I still don't have one in my collection!

In case you were wondering what it is worth. In that condition, if it is a half cent (more common than the large cent for that year), it is worth around $30-$40 in that condition based on some other sold coins on eBay. If it is a large cent, coins in similar condition sell for between $150-$220.

There's also this one which I believe is a trade coin. As well as this confederate 10 dollar bill.IMG_0373.webpIMG_0562.webp

Hmmm... Trade dollars are notorious for having fakes (yours looks fine based on the photos though), though that is more in recent years, probably not when your great grandfather was collecting. I am thinking of buying a very worn trade dollar in the future just to fill a hole in my collection, they are very nice coins. They are much rarer than common date Morgan dollars, and mean't for use in China, similar to some British coins at the time. I can't tell if yours is cleaned or not (though I see areas that look like the might be, check for hairline scratches), but cleaning greatly reduces desirability to other collectors, and value. If it is not cleaned, it looks to be an EF-45, probably worth around $200 in that condition, more like $100 if cleaned. The Confederate note is very cool, but very common due to them printing a huge amount of them. I really want a confederate note, or US note from that time, but haven't gotten around to picking one up. They are worth probably around $10 in that condition, face value lol, though the $100 notes are worth way less than $100. Very nice finds, you are very lucky to inherit such nice pieces, maybe this will encourage you to start a collection!

If you are worried it might be counterfeit just send them to me for proper disposal.

Icewing is from Arkansas and will probably just buy Mountain Dew with it. Send it to a Yankee and I will be SURE to properly dispose of it...on Labatt Blue or something.
