I actually found this a few weeks ago and never got a picture of it to post so here you go.

Found on private property dating back to around 1800 in PA. Only about 2 inches down near where the stable once stood.

This is my second this year. I posted one not too long ago that I originally had thought to be an 1802 and it was in fact an 1808 like they said after I cleaned it up a bit more. Love this forum. Thanks for looking.

I'd love to find a coin that old.. One day. I'm around Pittsburgh so there are some old areas around here but hard to find many around 1800. Most of the properties I hunt were built around 1900. Nice find!

Nice find! My first half cent was an 1803.

Nice looking coin congratulations!

Good detail....can't get a date at all from mine:BangHead:

I just found my 15th large cent this year, but never found a half cent. Way to go. Nice find.

Nice condition on that Draped half ! One you do not see near as often as a one cent ! Congrats ! MaineRelic

I hear you on that. I'm at 10 large cents now. The area I'm from didn't have much money so finding all these large cents makes you wonder how many times someone got home after working the fields to realize a day or more of pay was no longer in their pocket. I believe it has also helped me in finding these half cents. If I could only find some silver from the same era. haha

Nice half-cent , need some of those still here!

Awesome shape for a 200 year old coin! And only 2" down! You just never know where the good stuff hides.

I am in the same boat, lol. 2 Colonial KG's, 6 or 7 American LC's, a 180? Half cent and my oldest silver is a 1930 Mercury. Either people were cherry picking my sites or I hunt some poor areas, lol.
