1800's town
Went to the town of Petroluem, WV today with Kenny and we got permission to hunt a couple of properties. Cannot find a date of when the town was started but it pre-dates the civil war. You can see images of the town on google images. We got more trash than treasure but had a great time and the folks who still live in the area were very nice. I found a silver ring with a maker mark FX inside ( Any help here would be appreciated.)and 1940 wheatie where an old motel once stood. Kenny my hunting buddy found a 1898 indian head. Plus I found some clad from 1967 to 1972. Also we found all over the place this very heavy melted metal. Difinitely not lead you cannot bend i, but shinny like silver when you scrape it.
