1800's site, yesterdays finds

Well yesterday was cold and WINDY," Lets go any way "
so we did !
JOELMOTO another OKIE in my town also from this site,
went to some places on my family's land.
The first place I took Joe was to an overhang dug out
on the side of a bluff, really to show him the view, so he brought
his MD with him, I told him that I'd never MD in here.
We were in there for a few min's and no beeps on the MD
while we were looking around and talking about the view, LOL
I glanced up at the rock above our heads and some thing cought my
eye, I told that I'd just found a DIME WEDGED INTO A CRACK OF THE
THE ROOF!!! I thought I was going to fall the 60' below when Joe and
my nephew croled to me from both directiond, LOL
we really wanted to get it out and see what it was, but we took
photos of it first. Here it is still where I found it. When it came time to
remove it it was almost impossibe( my hands were shacking so bad that I
couldn't hardly hold my knife) we had a good lough when we got it out.
It was a ( 1989 ) dime ???LOL LOL ;D.I've been to this spot many many times
and never seen it , don't know how it got there.
Ok on to the other finds we found lots of old tin cans and other junk with
the MD's.The only good thing we found with them was an old ( Oklahoma 1 cent tax token & this old tuf nut button) I also dug up this milk glass bottle while digging up 1 of those junk cans.
Then we had 3 more eye finds we 2 marbles and a pice of a china plate.
Joe has his marble, no pic of it.
A good day... Thanks Joe
Enjoy everyone and HH
Ray

Good effort

you never know what you can find in the strangest places

Re: 1800's site, yesterdays finds

Should have located the "TUF NUT" button first, then at 60' you probably wouldn't be shaking as much....just kidding.Be careful on those overhang's,too much stuff in the ground to be found.Anyway thank's for sharing, sound's like a neat place to hunt.Congrat's and HH!!

Okie,

Awesome finds. Safety 1st!!! Glad to see you posting about your venture. Take care & a safe HH. :)

That overhang was a little hairy to get into at first. It opened up to a 60 foot drop straight down! These pics don't do it justice.

The dime in the crack. Lousy cell phone camera...

That old homesite is just starting to give up its goodies. Luckily Okie knows the owners really well and we should be able to cover it thoroughly over time. Here's the marble I found.

All in all a great day, even if it was in the 40's with the wind blowing like a son of a gun.

Looking forward to going again soon. Thanks Okie!

Nice post. Thanks for sharing. Nice view from up there. I have to ask. :-\ Did you really fall 250' off a tower? If so, to survive, you are one lucky fellow. HH
