1'8" X 6'10" Gargoyle Motoroil Sign

OMG it took FOREVER to dig this out today. I saw it yesterday when bottle hunting over the bluff by my house. When my husband (the spec of a person in the one pic) and I went to look at it today we thought it was two signs...then we realized after digging thru the dirt and ice that the one curved into the other. Also the disc I found yesterday and was wondering what it was appears to fit into the sign. There is a hole (not pictured) that you would have the price showing thru next to a cents sign.

So 5 hours later digging thru metal scraps, car parts, wood, rock, etc here it is....or what's left of it Enjoy!

That is one sweet sign!

I Am guessing even the shape it is in. It would bring 100.00 to 200.00 Maybe more Can you make out a date on left bottom. Late 1930 or 1940 I would guess

Thanks for that. I went and told the local antiques dealer I found it and even tho I didn't say I wanted to sell, he wants to buy it and offered $150. We are a small town and he likes to collect local type things so this would be for his own collection. I was kinda shocked on the offer but wasn't sure on the possible worth. After 5 hrs digging it free tho the idea of selling it right at this minute doesn't appeal to me lol In a few days tho =) (((ignore my post then in the Whats It Worth thread...can't figure out how to delete it)))

Great pictures:icon_thumright: Good luck next spin:treasurechest:
