1798 Spanish 8 Reale with Asian counter mark/stamp

i picked up what looks like a Spanish 8 reale at a local auction it came in a box lot of coins.Dated 1798 Carolus IIII Del Gratia written around front edge and stamped in several places are Asain Characters.back edge written is REX M w/a o over it (mint mark?) 8R F.M Hispan ET IND with counter stamps.Does this increase the value or decrease??

Small 'o' over large 'M' is the mintmark for Mexico City.
Personally, I put a higher value (certainly educational and conversational) with the chop marks.

They sell lower because they are not attractive to most buyers. (Including me)

Put it this way, if I was to find another 8 reale seeing those marks would be like the coin being holed, I just don't like em.

At local shows around here, I typicaly buy them for about $25 to $30 in that grade, and sell them for $45 to $60 depending.
If they have no or few chops and are original, They can be good money, like a couple hundred.

Anything minted in the New World in that time frame is not bad to have.

Keep in mind that that coin is technically a US Coin as that's a silver dollar of the era in this country and was legal tender up until I believe 1855...thats an 8 bit.
