Congrats on the old copper, looks in great condition! :occasion14:

Agreed. Nice copper.

The piece with the flower is way cool. The shape is very much like one I found on my property. Does it have gilt?

That NJ copper is in nice shape! Nice hunt!

There wasn't anything I could find on the back

The Jersey coppers are starting to pop up. Love the design on that coin. Congrats! The other piece with the flower is a horse bridle rosette.

Beautiful NJ and that's also a nice rosette.

Your New Jersey is a Maris 48-g. Matthias Ogden issue. Coin was made Feb.-June 1788 but backdated as 1787. Nice Find. I'm sure Don in SJ will chime in on this one.

Yes it is a 1787 Maris 48-g, the second most common variety found. Abt 78 reported in my NJ circulation study. Also almost 1200 NJs reported found in the past 16 years! Could you please say State and County found in so I can add to the survey, thanks. You can PM me if you wish to keep it confidential on location. Don

Very nice finds. The NJ copper is in great shape.

I found it in tolland county in Connecticut.

Thankyou for the state and county, it is the 8th one from that county and 74th from state of CT....

Wow! Thanks for all the knowledge!! I appreciate it!!

Still a Sweet Hunt!!! Really like that Copper!!! Congrats!!!
