I am fairly convinced that I have found my first mass copper Cent. You can actually see some of the lettering such as the H above the head of the eagle. It is the size of a large cent. I see the S to the left of the left wing. I can faintly see the numbers where the date is also. I am super excited that I found this, although it is in very bad shape. Anyone see what I am seeing? :o

In images 2,3, and 4 right above the eagles head you can faintly see the H. When I look at the coin with a magnified glass I can see the U also. To the left of the images near the wing I see a small slash mark, which I believe to be the middle of one of the S'es in Massachusetts. :dontknow: I know I am reaching, but after seeing an image of the coin in the red book these details starting jumping out. Maybe I am a dreamer. ;D
Thanks for looking. :icon_thumleft:

Sometimes the letters are easier to see in person when you can look at it at different angles. Here's a trick, wet it, and just before the water evaporates you should be able to see the most detail. You may want to try hot hydrogen peroxide baths for that coin too. The eagle is a perfect match so I'm convinced you have id'ed it properly.....super find!!!
