1785 Spanish 1/2 Reale and a Brass serpent musket Side plate!

Wooo Hooo! I got out for a couple of hours this morning and it turned into one of the best hunts ever. I re-visited a site where I have dug several tombac and flat buttons in the past. I walked into the woods and changed my program on my F75 to 4 tones. I have been running it in 2F for a long time so I changed it up a bit. My first good signal was a bouncy 60-70 with a little iron mixed in. I dug it and when I dug the plug it sounded much better. I saw a tiny silver disk and I let out a shout!





I also found a very unique item while I was digging the area. I think this is even more rare than finding the Spanish Silver. I dug a Brass Serpent Side plate from a very early musket. I haven't seen many of these dug. I had no idea what it was until Buckleboy clued me in.

Randy I bet you are like me. ANY day digging is a good day of digging. I hope I can get back in there in the next couple of days and see if I can find anything else. I did dig a ton of iron nails and 2 tombac buttons that I didn't take a picture of. I guess I could include them as well.

I have always spelled it Reale...But I see it is Real. I am super pumped up to find it. It makes me wonder if there could be a larger real out there. I would love to find a 8 real.... I will be going back out real soon.
