image.jpegimage.jpegfound this in the woods at a colonial cellar hole. My favorite find so far! There are 2 holes punched in the middle, I'm thinking maybe kids ran some thread through it and used it as a spin toy??

Thanks Don! These coins were only made from 1783-86 in England and shipped to the US before we started minting our own coinage. I was ecstatic to find it and I'll probably never find another. HH!
 

That reverse is amazing for a dug copper. Oh man, what an incredible find! I joined back in June so I can't rely opine about how frequently these get shared here, but a quick search suggests it is rare indeed.
 

That's a tough find right there my friend. One that every colonial Hunter would love to add to the collection

The holes were most likely a result from someone making it into a button. It was hard to find buttons back then because you would need a blacksmith to make one for you. So punching two holes in a coin Was easier
