1783 Unity States of America GW one cent , a few questions ?

This coin i purchased a few years ago once in awhile i read more thing,s found out about it , like it,s unknown just how many where minted ? , exactly where in England it was minted ? and the year it was minted they say somewhere between 1837 and 1854 ? and all this information is based on which book you read - very confusing a lot of unknowns for just one coin ? or token ? :read2: . I see there is 3 up for auction on different sites they range from $ 850.00 TO $ 115.00 i would say they grade pretty close to my coin - + . Also just how important is it to have a coin graded by a grading service like PCGS eg. all 3 on auction are graded . I took a few close up photo,s of my coin token ? if anyone can add a few more bits of information thanks Jim

That's actually pretty good and I'm guessing the filing marks are accepted well, just because that's the way they are. VF books at $275, and EF $500. If it was mine I'd probably start out looking for about $425, maybe a little more if I'm feeling greedy that day :laughing7: , but if I had a hard time moving it I'd drop to the VF price if I had too... assuming I was still making money on it. But $275 would definitely be my minimum.

I've had about 4 different Washingtons but not one of those. I should have made you an offer before saying something. ;D

Hi IP i don't think i would want to sell it just curious how it would grade there is 2 variety,s of the Unity States it has to do with the placement of the berry,s some are inside the wreath some outside , mine the berry,s are both ? lol . The coin is so dark brown i had to fiddle with the lighting and flash to brighten it to see the image,s as far as the file marks i read the platelets used were so rough on the edges they had to file them down which did not help the light strike,s on the words Unity reverse and Washington on the obverse most all have file marks . IF! i get it graded and decide to sell it ill send ya a PM Jim
