Relic Hunting
Quick one hour hunt at late 1700s - mid 1800s blacksmith/ market site with the Garrett AT Pro (stock coil). This area is very hard to detect, it's pretty much 100% overgrown with pricker bushes, also tick infested. I went here hoping to find some early iron tools, found a pick or adze, lots of good iron left, it will clean up well.
178?.Carolus III (Mexico City mint) half real (holed, but my most detailed and 3rd half real this year)
The copper plate is part of a thermometer from the 1800s, "Taylor Bros. Rochester NY"
Also a small buckle and heavily corroded early 1800s? Round Padlock, (would rather have found the key)

that is one bad a$$ buckle, may get a full date by locating the assayer mark, BEAUTY of an ugly Spanish guy silver:icon_thumleft::icon_thumright:

I agree, the buckle is super awesome!!!

were you in the woods on this hunt? i was out today. mosquitoes were bad and the deer were running (from hunters I assume). congrats on the finds.

Yes, the brush is very thick there, no more mosquitos up here though.

A lil' Spanish makes a person feel real nice.

That buckle with the cross bar below the frame is often horse tack. A guess of mine would be early/mid 1800's. Nice digs

Great looking Spanish with great detail. Looks like a great spot

Nice Relic and coin hunt, congratulations!

Very cool! That silver half real would have bought a flagon of grog back in the day! :coins::treasurechest::notworthy:

Great spot you got there...love the Spanish and buckle..
