i have a 1778 four dollar bill(North Carolina Currency) no. 156 printed by James Davis 1778. Does anyone have any information on this note? My brother from Calif. sent it and asked me to look into it since i am a collector. The only info i can find is there is one like it in Craven County Library. Any and ALL responces are GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thank You.

Until someone pipes in - I just searched the Forum and found Carolina $4 bill value...then jump over to GOOGLE and enter (with quotes): "1778 $4"

vpnavy, pics coming, must have 5 listings before i can post a pic.. the serial no. looks like 156. there is a corner missing and a small tear but being 230 some years old i'm amazed at the shape it is in. It was printed in Hillsborough NC with two signatures on obverse and printed by James Davis on reverse. i'll post ASAP Thank You!
