Well done on the old copper and other finds. The brass cameo is an interesting one.
Not sure if it was off a watch chain, or a single piece of jewelry that hung off a sash/belt/ribbon.

Had it tested...it's a gold cameo. Copper was mixed in with gold back then hense the green. Most washed off with water plus it had a brass hanger with it that was detached

Just wonder , did you get the date of the mill from maps?
You have quite a selection of great stuff...!
I'm envious...!
No.historical site. When I found out they were clearing for a development I had to go when they took out the trees.starterd mill in 1770 and burnt by natives around 1810. Was a farm later in the 1800s.

Sorry... but IMO...

The Cameo piece is not gold... but rather gold filled... which is nothing more than heavy gold plating.

Not dogging your find... but whoever tested it did not test correctly OR it is very low gold content... like a 6k... 7k... but doubt as high as 8k... but i highly doubt it has any gold content at all other than plate.

I say this simply due to the overall look... for this is indicative of copper / brass... (not my first rodeo)

Great finds though... well done.

Congrats on some great recoveries before the site is under asphalt.

(If you need a hand I'll be glad to help you grid and find. You can even keep any finds. Just want to help if needed. PM me if interested.)
