1770-80's Silver Cufflink with Fleur de Lys

First off, a big thanks to ACE for bringing me out for a hunt. I usually dont do the heavy rain, but it is different when you go somewhere new. We both agreed to do some research soon and find a virgin spot halfway for a future hunt.

As he said, the first few sites were a bust. We stopped by a newer cellar hole. Knee high grass kept us at bay, but he managed to find a merc. All I could sniff out was some horse tack.

We went by briefly to his 8 reale spot, just to give it a quick check with the deus... But no reales popped up. He cleaned it out. There was barely any iron left. Hahaaa.

Anyway, fast forward to an older spot.... I sniffed out a couple of toasted halfpennies and a few buttons. All in all, the Deus served me well, yet again. Next time, I'd like to get out again with the Etrac, and hunt with him in multitone. He uses TTF. It would be fun to compare signals. Dueling minelabs!

He had me by two on the silver count for the day, but I reduced the gap with a beauty. I offered it to Relic, but he kindly declined. I've got a surprise for him next time we meet. ;)

It is an 18th century silver cuff button, octagonal in shape, with a gorgeous Fleur de Lys design. Vive la France!

Happy hunting!

Ace, I owe you one.

Oh man I am LOVING that link! Looks like a really fun hunt and that is a beautiful piece of silver buddy

Congrats on finding the silver link, a nice keeper for any display.

Very nice find. Looks really old! Good show.

I just about fell over when you dropped it in my hand! I couldn't believe I had walked over it dozens of times using the etrac with both the stock and 4.5x7 coils. I'm so glad you found it! I think it goes nicely with the silver officers shoe buckle (1780-1788) I found. There is very good reason to believe that they belonged to the same person. Sent you a text with all of that info. Anyways, killer find bro! Congrats again!

gtg I see a fluer de lyis cuff link that shines, buttons and coins what a great days finds, vanzutphen

That is a sweet silver cufflink Gio! I have found that style on 1750s French and Indian War sites, unfortunately none of mine were silver!

You've got to love those 18th century octagonal cufflinks, especially in silver. I've never seen one with a fleur de lis. Awesome finds.
