Wow, how cool is that, how did it ring? Were there other targets in the area. I have been doing fields too, and have found some old stuff, just not any old coins like that. I believe I could be in an area where that would be possible.

Thanks, It was loud and clear 12/43 12/44 on the CTX. As soon as I found the coin I started detecting in a spiraling out method from coin drop ground zero. Unfortunately I think it was just a random drop while plowing or something since it was pretty quite in the sixty or so feet around it. However, not too much farther off I found some some brass rings so I am definitely going to have to check this area again.
