A few more hours digging at the 'Grenade Farm' and guess what - No Grenades this time.
This was my fourth visit and I stayed mainly at the top end of the farm, away from the lake, and I still haven't covered the perimeter yet - this place is massive!
First coin was this 1910 silver Sixpence:

I then went on to find my first ever (identifiable) George II coin - a 1754 Farthing, well pleased that I could still see the date on this one - they're usually corroded badly by now:

And what every boy should need out in the countryside - A Swiss pen knife, not a blemish on it:

Also found a few pennies:

Another 'Lion & Unicorn' Button, Carpet Rings:

Lead weight, Cartridges, and a 'Firth Staybrite' Teasoon living up to its name, shining just as brightly as the day it was lost:

Looking forward to getting back there soon.
David.

Great finds. Heard it's wet over the pond eh?
These last few days have been very wet (& muddy) yes. This morning though we've got Gale-force winds and a clear sky - should dry the land out a bit. Clocks went back an hour last night though, going dark by 5pm!

That was a great day of hunting Dave! The finds made it even better! :o

Bunch of nice finds dave

looks like you had a great day, lots of good finds well done :icon_thumright:

Looks like the gridding will soon produce something really great from that site :icon_thumright:

Never said this before, but my fav of your finds is the Swiss pen knife, carry it as your lucky knife, never know when it will be handy :)

I'll put it with my lucky white feather I found last week ;D
Its going to be difficult gridding this one, I haven't seen one straight line or right angle yet, Its like one mass of Park Land (part of did infact be ancient park land, no hedges or walls, just the outer perimeter fence (which I've yet to complete)... Ancient trees, grazing sheep and pheasant-filled woods (no admittance to those). I think this farm will last me years!.
