I spent about an hour and a half in the cornfield trying to narrow down the Inn location and i think i have it. I found another lead ball that is about 1/2 inch across, a couple of other pieces of lead, lots of nail pieces and 1/4 of a Spanish silver coin. It is about the size of 1/4 of a dime. Can anybody ID this for me? I have a feeling that i am going to be spending lots more time there before planting begins. Steve

Fantastic,no telling what you will pull from there.

If a dia. of 17mm, then a 1/2 real. If a dia. of 20 mm, then a one real.
The "V" suggests Philipe "V". The legend would read:
Philip V. D. B. HISPAN (or HISP) ET IND REX.
The "V" and the "D" are apparent.
Don....

It looks like it would be a little bigger that 20 mm. Any idea as to time frame? Are the lead balls rifle balls or "shot" for shotguns?
I'm in central Virginia. Thanks Again steve

Here is a pic of it on a penny and a pic of the balls. Thanks Again, steve
