I went out metal detecting for a full 8 hr. day today, 8-4. Around 40 degrees and sunny. Was really happy to find yet another half pence. My main goal detecting is to find pre Revolutionary War artifacts. So excited to see the verdigris coins come out of our well-drained soils. I didn't even wash off or clean this coin before photographing.

The 1925 RCA Radiola 25 bezel is from a battery powered Super Heterodyne Stereo Audio Six Tube YTS2. AC radios first appeared in 1927. This and other Radiolas of that year used E. Howard Armstrong's Superheterodyne tuning patent, which significantly eased the challenge of tuning stations. The wooden cabinet and the speaker represent early efforts to take radios out of the attic or garage and make them attractive enough for the women in a household. The patent made Armstrong the largest shareholder in RCA, which also had to pay the French co-inventor. Came with a square frame antenna,

Unfortunately, no coinage with the purse. It's old enough for paper currency to have rotted away in the forest floor.

Eastern Long Island. The oldest English settlement in New York State.

Cool radio part, the copper certainly made the days hunt worthy. Congrats

Great stuff Eastender! That LC certainly would have made my day. Looks to be in pretty great condition. Finding a colonial era anything always is fun!
