Got out with my babe Jo Ellen today and managed to pop up a nice goody right at the end. A hard hit site but persistence paid off w/ a dated Spanish cut 1 reale. Tiny lil thing!

Got a Georgian watch winder and some other things. Wife got some later coins from a new site across the field that she stayed with. Will post a better write up later tomorrow. But this lil Spanish is a keeper for sure.

Very cool slice of history there- Congrats!

Yep, this field of rolling hills on a creek is like beach sand. Some awesome coppers have come outta here over the years. And must be getting close to 15 or so cut Spanish by now. its been a good place to try out my newer 9" HF coil. I've used it several times now and its so quiet, even with my sens on 98, that I have to occasionally wave my shovel in front of it to be sure its working. I did dig a 2" piece of a bronze ship spike at prob 14" deep and a shot gun head stamp about a foot which made me feel better about it. At one point I put on the old 9" LF coil but I cant stand the chatter so it is now officially retired. Sometimes its just difficult to accept change.

Thats freakin cool lucky you got the slice with the date on it Thats amazing how old it is and in that nice of a condition awesome job. Tommy
