Went out on Saturday with The Fog to get a few hours of detecting in...Went to an older spot trying to recover some relics...Landed a nice Woods Hibernia...still needs a bit of cleaning but I am extremely busy...The George Third cleaned up great.. I always wanted this type... I also dug a couple of Shoe Buckle Chapes..I like to find my shoe buckles piece by piece..*unlike Fog* who finds them whole :laughing7: We were gonna head back on Sunday but we got rained out. Thanks for looking Brian W

I'd love to find some soil that would be so kind to coppers, but it just doesn't happen around here! Nice digs!

*envious* good finds!

You got some great condition coppers there. They don't come out of the ground like that too often. Congrats to you. :occasion14:

Great looking coppers.:icon_thumright:

Cleaned up nicely Bri! Ok I guess I was wrong on the Woods, I was convinced those chunks on the face and ear would come off. But they still look great! My copper wasn't far away and it was toasted, so consider yourself lucky. Love the George III.

Awesome finds, the coppers are too cool.

Very nice! You two sure have a few good sites and some awesome finds as of late. Congrats!

Two Outstanding coins in terms of condition. Well done!

-Buck

The 1723 Woods Hibernia is very nice copper , even with the funky chunks. Shocked that you went to an 1806 on the next coin , hard to get those pre war of 1812 KG III 's

Very nice coins and stellar job on the cleaning! Can you please post or PM me on your cleaning technique and how you seal them afterwards? They really look great Brian!

Nice coppers! I've dug a lot of coppers but have yet to find either of those!

Thanks for all the nice comments... As for the cleaning these coins...it wasn't bad as the patina protected them...every coin is different and its always a different method to clean them..always a tough call....some coins I don't even clean..like my avater.....sometimes I use hydrogen peroxide.. always cold I don't heat mine....sometimes I just use a damp qtip to clean them...some coins I even use petroleum jelly on soft cloth to bring out detail...but it takes practice just to figure out the best way...just remember you can NEVER unclean a coin..but you can always clean it later...Thanks for looking....Brian W

So how did you clean these two coins that you just posted??--they both look great!
