Today detecting a 1850โ€™s property in Minnesota settled by Norwegians I found a 1714 coin button. The button is a Fredrick IV from Norway. Last weekend I found a old Norwegian military button. Interested piece of history. Super cool find.

I have a small Spanish real converted into a button but unfortunately the shank had broken off.

Love your dig!

A silver coin button! Now there's an idea that I wish would have viral back in the day. My kind of button. Gary

Man....that is cool !! Congrats !!

Very cool find! Must have been a family heirloom that was passed down a couple generations before it was lost. Here is a 1764 Spanish half real that was made into a button, or more likely a cuff link. I have found two other half reals that you can see the nubs from where the shank was, but they are worn smooth from being put back into circulation.
