Second time to the homestead site where I had pulled some awesome things. This time was alot more digging and with a friend!
Some more buttons were pulled up by both of us.
I pulled another KG coin, a weird brass piece, a couple of buttons, and this button that seems newer and was about 30 feet away from the homestead location (possible ID of type?)
I also pinged a really loud one, I dug down and out came this humungous spoon!!! FULL! Crazy! I've seen people pull spoons that are bent or broken, but this one was about a foot down and seems extremely old. 1700s?
my friend pulled a couple buttons and this really old silver. I've done some lighting tricks on it and also used a magnifying glass to try and help ID the coin. I believe it says 1721 as a date with a crown directly below the date. The other side seems to have a "C" in the center with a crown above that. I've tried to research this and haven't found a match for the coin. I'm going to use a laser sight over my phone camera for better and clearer magnifying. I just have to find the laser! :laughing7:
I can't wait to go back and see what more this site has to offer! including all of these rose head nails :laughing7:
cheers everyone! 41321KGiiiObv.jpg41321KGiii.jpg41321silverobv.jpg41321silver.jpg41321colonialspoon.jpg41321spoonback.jpg41321spoonbowl.jpg41321spoondes.jpg41321spoontip.jpgfinds_41321buttons.jpg41321buttons.jpg41321button1.jpg41321button.jpg41321button3.jpg41321button2.jpg41321brass.jpg41321brassback.jpg41321totalfinds.jpgfinds_41321.jpg

awesome hunt, bet a lot more comes from that location!

your "KGIII" is a Virginia Halfpenny
What!? Well I can check that off the list!!! Thank you for the help with ID! So many different coins here.. I love it!
I’m out here again today.. just arrived! Wish me luck!

Congrats on the old coppers and the spoon. Best of luck on todays hunt as well

Congrats on the VA Halfpenny. They are all dated 1773. The intact Rat Tail Dog Nose spoon is a good find. That's an early spoon, probably mid 1700s, and they are very tough to find intact.

Thanks for the info! I was definitely surprised that I pulled that out complete! Really surprised I didn’t kiss it with my trusty shovel haha
